Our history

More than ten years ago, Jesús decided to realise a dream he had had for some time: to open a place in the heart of Alicante where people could gather around a table and enjoy the most authentic Mediterranean cuisine. That is how Tasca del Barriowas born, a space that over time has become much more than a restaurant: it is a meeting place, a corner where stories are shared and flavours are remembered.

From day one, Jesús was clear about his mission: to revive traditional recipes, cooked with the same love and honesty as home cooking. Homemade tapas, traditional rice dishes, grilled meats and soulful dishes, prepared with quality ingredients and the care of someone who knows that cooking is much more than just feeding people: it's about evoking emotions.

With hard work, perseverance and a large family of customers and friends that grows every year, La Tasca has kept its essence intact: a friendly, cheerful and authentic place.

Today, a decade later, we remain faithful to that original idea. Coming to eat at La Tasca means sharing, celebrating and feeling the warmth of a neighbourhood that beats strongly in every dish.
